My apologies for the slow reply. I've had this sort of thing in mind for some time and will implement it when I have a little more time than I do now. It seems to me that perhaps the best way to do it is to have a series of single subject lists as you suggest, but compiled by the moderators (Alan and I), from submissions from everyone. That way we can ensure consistency of presentation and avoid duplication. If I've done nothing in a month, give me a wake up call, please!
