His 2nd symphony on Timpani is gorgeous! Haven't hear it in a while but I remember it as somewhat darkish, bright sunny scherzo but overall dramatic, a deep romantic work.

Joseph Jongen- made a good amount of piano music.. there is a multi volume set of Cd's on the Pavane label with solo piano and also includes his music for 4 hands.  Highly attractive, polished music from an accomplished composer which I would rate as still unsung.

That is amazing, lovely piece and how technology can put all the players together to bring the symphony alive in this manner.. More  unsung symphonies and chamber music can be made this way!! The Future!!

Very good analysis - I agree with Hurwitz sentiments. Kalliwoda's music is definitely not run of the mill stuff. Right from the moment I heard the 3 string quartets I knew he was a very good composer.  My favorite comment was how come Spohr's symphonies were played in he mid-late 19th century while Kalliwoda's weren't? Being that they are far superior in most on avg.

Recordings & Broadcasts / Re: LPs

I still play my cassettes! I love how handy they are, you can pop them in and out, press play and stop and play again and continue where you left off. Plus they are not as fragile as CD's that can get scratched. Digital is definitely more convenient and my most often used medium. However there is something special about tapes/ cassettes and how much more portable they are than LP's. I also started seeing that they are becoming quite expensive also.

I just wanted to bring attention to this composers' Concertante Piece for piano and orchestra ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzvDnq5pQKM) while it's only a little over 6 minutes long, it sure the heck packs a punch! full throttle romantic mini concerto movement Lovely stuff :) I know some of his music may not qualify for this forum. But I'm sure this does.

Hi folks, Just came across Kor Kuiler,  an unsung Dutch composer. I see we have his Piano Sonata in Dminor on our download section. It may perhaps the same one as this one on Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ah8cJA5SU8. It's Gorgeous music! But unable to find more on CD or elsewhere :( . Just wanted to bring attention to this composer that is all. :)
