Point taken there seems to be no 'best Raff 5', but what is the second best recommendation? Bamert, Jarvi, Schneider, Stadlmair?

I grew up with this recording and remember Willem van Otterloo as an advocate for Franck's symphony.

Interesting! Do you think this recording includes the dialogues?

Let's be happy that German opera houses are willing to breathe new life into 'forgotten' operas. In Germany people still have money for culture! Where in my home country can I find a professional opera house in a city of 140,000 inhabitants? Tilburg, Groningen, Almere, Breda, Eindhoven?, forget it! The review in the German magazine Opernwelt is much more positive about this opera performance https://www.der-theaterverlag.de/opernwelt/aktuelles-heft/

At first I thought 'A new recording of Schreker's opera Der Ferne Klang', but it isn't, it's a compilation of his orchestral works. Many of them available on Chandos  :-[

There's a Cd with 2 overtures by van Bree. It's on NM Classics, nr. 92090 (issued 1999), and contains his Concert overture in B minor and the Overture Le Bandit. Nederlands Radio Symfonie Orkest under Jac van Steen.

Vlaams (Flemish) and Nederlands (Dutch) belong both to the Low Franconian linguistic category. Problem for me as a native Dutch speaker is I hardly can understand a native Flemish speaker but a native Flemish speaker is perfectly able to follow me. So I had difficulties understanding the sung text from Mortelmans opera because it sounded so un-Dutch  :)
