Atsushi - thank you for the latest Romanian downloads. I especially like the Concerto Grosso by LAZĂR - full of rhythmic twists and turns, and most enjoyable, and the Piano Concerto of DRĂGOI is melodious and relaxing after a busy day. Much appreciated.
And, they're all 'hot off the press' (radio rather!) :) :)

Hello! I listened Piano Concerto of DRĂGOI at lunch time in office yesterday and today.
It helps to my head cool down and relaxing after busy work.  I felt this work is a 'Concerto of Songs' .  Many warm and tender melodies in this music.  :)

I can post the Second Symphony with Kocsis.

This work is very important in the history of Romania's musical history, being the very first one written by a Romanian Composer.

Stephanescu (Stephănescu), George (other spellings probably) - 1843-1925 - brief bio here - symphony in A (composed or published in 1869, so only 10 years after Spohr's death, and the general style was still current, I'd say...) recorded in 1973 and released on the Electrecord LP label (reissued on CD in 1990 ) by the Cluj-Napoca Philharmonic Orchestra, either Emil Simon or Paul Popescu conducting if it doesn't say in the other thread (haven't checked ... !) (a more recent CD, 2003, has a concert overture by the same composer according to Worldcat- perhaps the National Overture of 1882 listed in Wikipedia, perhaps something else?)

Hello to all of you!
Due to the kind recommandation of one of this forum's members,I joined today unsungcomposers.
I am from Romania, and I enjoyed a lot the romanian shares here.
I can also contribute to some extent here, with Romanian Music but not only.
I have some questions:
-contemporary composers can be shared here?
-what kind of recordings-OOP,never on CD,in house, private or also hard to find?
-what format-lossy or not
-what server is prefered.
As I know very well this music, you can ask me questions about this topic.

Welcome Jacky!

To answer some of your questions:

Yes, contemporary composers' music can be shared here, but primarily tonal music written in the romantic or broadly romantic tradition of the 19th and 20th centuries. We do not permit recordings which have been published on CD to be shared here. So, if it is from an out of print CD you cannot share it here. Commercially available downloaded tracks cannot be shared. The format is up to you. Most people here use MediaFire for online storage, but that is not mandatory.

Finally, you'll see that I have moved some of your posts and merged your Romanian thread with this one. The posts were moved because the Downloads board is only for download links, all discussion and replies which don't have new links should be in this board. The thread was merged because there was no point in having two Romanian threads in the same baord.

Hope I am doing this right
I am uploaded the Second Symphony

Holger

A word about jowcol's newest upload in the Romanian section.

The composer is Nicolae Brânzeu (1907–1983). Here is the Romanian wikipedia entry:
http://ro.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolae_Br%C3%A2nzeu

According to this article, the work which has been uploaded is his Symphony No. 2 in D "For Peace" with female choir in the final movement. It dates from 1963. The conductor is most likely to be Nicolae Boboc.

This is also in accordance with Mike Herman's list, which additionally lists the Arad Philharmonic Female Choir as performers

Thanks again to the dynamic duo of Holger and Semloh!

I'll update the download page, and I'm also collecting these corrections and sending them back to Karl, who has appreciated the  additional info he's received so far.
