Here's some exciting news for opera lovers: Godard's last unfinished opera-comique, La Vivandieire,  will be performed at the Montpellier Festival on 24th July and broadcast on Radio France Musique.

One of my favourite composers, Godard has the melodic fluency of Saint-Saens. He is only really known in operatic circles for the Berceuse from Jocelyn, yet he wrote several other operas including La Vivandiere in 1895 which was finished by P. Vidal and received over 80 performances in Paris.

And if the world works in a regular way, then hopefully in a year's time or so we'll be listening to a new recording on Accord. Hope so, anyway. Accord usually do those operas performed at the Montpellier Festival and then broadcast on Radio France. And most lavish sets they turn out to be.
