having ilstened to and enjoyed the 5th of Roman Statkowski's 6 string quartets, his Op.40, I'm surprised it wasn't published until posthumously (1929 vs.1925), not so much because of its quality- which is high- but also because his piano pieces Opp.34 and 35 were published 21 years earlier, according to HMB (e.g. see here). (Didn't want to bump a thread just for this, but there is one, on his opera Maria, from 2 years ago.

There's what looks like (I wouldn't know...!) a good partial worklist and biography here. There's also a page on Wikipedia. It seems he was a teacher of Szeluto, a composer who's been mentioned here...
