Pop station? Heretic, begone  ;)

Hahaha! Discriminating tastes beg to disagree. Hahaha!

As Shel Silversztewin once sang, "When you been eatin' steak for a long time, beans, beans taste fine."

I meant "Begone from UC", of course. I have my own pop likes too...

I just got up in caravan overlooking the straits of Dover and am listening to...wind in the trees, chirping of birds, distant rumble of traffic (well, nowhere's perfect, but that will do nicely for now).  Regarding scales of 1 to 10, I'm not entirely sold on them because of course each one is still largely subjective, but multidimensional scales (e.g. "competence", "originality", "inspiration", I'm sure we could think of plenty more) could turn out to have more consistency and communicability than a simple "yuk! to wow!" scale. I'm slightly reminded of personality inventories that sound hopelessly subjective and arbitrary on the surface, but which do succeed in revealing underlying "factors" that have some validity is describing personality types. Maybe there's a science of musical appreciation after all?
