Here's one for opera lovers:

Myklos Arkas: Kateryna (1890)

This opera is the first Ukrainian lyric folk opera. The composer Arkas ( 1853-1909) also wrote a History of Ukraine. Very topical... very interesting.

Despite my efforts, I failed to record this too.

Did any tech-savvy, opera-tragic manage to accomplish this feat.

For those who are unaware, this opera has been recorded.  The disc, which is a CD-Rom with MP3 tracks, also contains Heorhiy Mayboroda's opera Mylana.  The CD looks like this - http://www.kniga.ru/music/479384 .  I would of course offer to upload it here but that would be against the site's rules, even though this CD-Rom itself is a blatant lift from an old Soviet Melodiya LP!

Now, I've no excuse for missing it!
