I discovered this after the fact:
http://classicalradio.bru-zane.com/fr/la-nonne-sanglante-de-charles-gounod/
I do not see on the Opera Comique's website that this will be broadcast anywhere else, so I hope a recording will eventually be available.  (I'm fairly sure one will, as another of the Palazzetto Bru Zane's projects.)

This is a (still available) cpo CD, recorded in 2008 and issued in 2010.

Sorry, I was unclear in my original post--I meant to refer to the Opera Comique production of this month.  I was told by an acquaintance that there was a video broadcast on 12 June, and this is the link I was sent:

Not sure about the singing on the cpo set. My usual grumble, I'm afraid.

I know, Alan, I am with you! Not to mention the unsatisfactory French pronounciation and unawareness of French stylistics. I have worked as an Italian, French, German and English language coach for many years - during Drese's and Pereira's golden aera of the Zurich Opera, among others as an assistant of Jean-Pierre Ponnelle. These were times in which foreign languages were taken much care of. I also teached Italian and French stylistics at the Opera Studio. Such a pity all this has gone by for me; I liked teaching so much!
Incidentally, I was, lately, so disappointed by another French opera CD: it's that Panclassics 2CD set with Debussy's unfinished Edgar Poe operas - which are excellently completed, conducted and quite nicely sung. But the French pronounciation! Oh dear!

Alan Howe

Gounod - of all composers - has to be sweetly sung. The cpo set isn't. That's why I won't buy it.

It looks like it may have been uploaded on YouTube:

Yes, I had posted the link.  The video will also be on culturebox:

I am not familiar with the cpo recording but there was an excerpt played on the BBC "Composer of the Week" feature on Gounod last week, with a tenor named Yoonki Baek singing Rodolphe.  I watched bits of the Opera Comique production and Michael Spyres is clearly the superior singer in this role.  I will have to make time to watch the entire opera.

Alan Howe

Spyres is a very fine singer indeed. The performance detailed at DK's original link is the (inadequate) cpo recording. Let's hope there will be one featuring Spyres.

DK

I actually had posted the Opera Comique performance link in a second post after I received the link from an acquaintance.  This was a Palazzetto Bru Zane-sponsored production, so I hope it will be issued as a recording (a DVD instead of a CD would be nice!).  But if not, the video is up for enjoyment.  Spyres is very fine here.

As the video was produced by "François Roussillon et associés" in association with Naxos, I think there will be a DVD some time.
