Can't say that I've ever warmed to the Saxophone Concerto, or indeed most of Glazunov's later music - it always seems to have lost the joi de vivre of the rest of his canon, but then I guess the drink, war, revolution and exile would be enough to dampen anyone's spirit. The viola arrangement does sound good, though.

This is rather nice. I've always enjoyed his Sax concerto, not many available out there. Yeah, Glazunov inspiration leaves him around his first piano concerto(1910 thereabouts) not for him Haydn or Janacek's marvellous mature years.
