One soprano's squally, but I haven't really listened to much of it yet.

It's definitely the same performance. Sterling have licensed the recording from SWR, the original broadcaster in 2010.

It's unlikely to be my cup of tea - and I only buy recordings of this period in opera that are well done. Sitting through a couple of hours of mediocre singing by a provincial cast in such demanding music may be tolerable, even enjoyable live, but to have it all perpetuated in a recording is something up with which I cannot put.
