Never heard of this guy, but the blurb waxes poetic about him.

Anyway, this is some great stuff. Melodic late 19th century character pieces....I  can never get enough of those heh.

There's some discussion of his works in this thread on Armenian opera - http://www.unsungcomposers.com/forum/index.php/topic,7615.msg85144.html#msg85144 . His name is transliterated a lot of different way - Tchouhadjian, Choukhadjian, Chukhajyan etc. And his first name can also be rendered Dikran.  Most of his operas are found in complete form on youtube, and many of his piano works also.
