EM Records have announced the future release of the world premiere recording of Gurney's Violin Sonata in D, coupled with the new G. Henle Verlag edition of Elgar's Violin Sonata. The performers are Rupert Marshall-Luck and Duncan Honeybourne.

Interesting. Thanks, Alan.
Not much of his music has been recorded, so this is very welcome indeed. As to his chamber music, Wikipedia says that "he wrote as many as 20 string quartets, although most of these are lost. The String Quartet in D minor, composed in 1924, received its premiere recording in 2020. [ref. Those Blue Remembered Hills. EM Records EMRCD065]"

As I recall, the New Yorker had a very interesting review of a Gurney biography just recently, so
my interest is piqued. (Ah yes, https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2021/07/12/the-strange-case-of-ivor-gurney.)
