Josef Bohuslav Foerster: The Heart
An opera in two acts with overture and overtime from 1922. About a man who was able to transform the emotional pain and unfulfillment that led him to the brink of crime into a fertile and beneficial force. Starring Zdeněk Otava.
Other performers are: Milada Musilová, Ivo Žídek, Věra Krilová, Jaroslav Veverka, Jan Soumar, Jiří Joran and others.
The following performers: Children's Choir and Choir of the Czechoslovak Radio in Prague and the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Alois Klíma. A unique film taken in the year of the composer's nineties. Jan Hyhlík quotes Foerster's ideas, prepared and introduces Vojtěch Babka together with Martina Kolajová. (3 hrs.)

On Czech Radio 3 Saturday night.

A Heartfelt Happy New Year to all!

Wonderful, these are rarefied treasures indeed. There's also a Pilsen (Plzeň) Municipal Operatic Company performance of his final opera The Fool - Bloud (1936) the most recent being staged sometime in April of 2001 which are hard to come by nowadays. But I'm not sure whether a radio broadcast or commercial recording exists in regards to this performance.
