Another stunning piece by Parry - an extraordinarily advanced-sounding piece from 1877. There's a lot of Wagner in the mix, which evidently isn't surprising as it was written after Parry had attended the 1877 London concerts of Wagner's music.

And interesting in terms of form - can we consider this piece to be the first Concerto for Orchestra?

Why? Most "concertos for orchestra" I'm aware of circulate through the ensemble highlighting various instruments and groups of instruments in concertante ways- does the Parry (a matter of texture, not form)? Otherwise concertpiece/concertino with organ, not a first afaik, seems the right title.
