Possibly the finest tenor in the heavier repertoire before the public today?

The soprano's pretty good too (Krassimira Stoyanova):

Leoncavallo's Zingari will be available in September 2022. Zingari is a tale of passion, jealousy and crime in a camp on the banks of the Danube. This one-act opera was a huge success immediately after its creation in London in 1912. Marking Leoncavallo's return to the verismo style of Pagliacci, Opera Rara's version of Zingari showcases rich, colourful orchestral music with powerful choral moments and seductive arias sung by a stunning cast including the great Bulgarian soprano Krassimira Stoyanova, tenor Arsen Soghomonyan and baritone Stephen Gaertner.

I love the comment on the first video : "a beautiful BARITONE voice !" .  From a connoisseur apparently... ;)

I suppose the tenor has something of a baritonal timbre, though.

As I surmised, this fine, neglected opera features at least one world-class performance, i.e. that of tenor Arsen Soghomonyan as Radu, and another not far behind, that by soprano Krassimira Stoyanova as Fleana. Unlike so many recordings these days (made all-too often by second-rate provincial opera houses), this one actually delivers vocally.

If you love Italian opera, particularly of the verismo period, please do support this magnificent production by Opera Rara. It's only one CD!
