I always find Hurwitz unbearable with his screechy voice and hysteria. 16 "unknown" operas ? To him, perhaps....
But yeah, Bohemios is one of many jewels in the (little known, outside Spain) zarzuela repertoire...

I know what you mean. On the other hand I have discovered a few compositions I didn't know from his videos - this being one.

I like him in many ways.  He has strong opinions but they are a product of his passion for music.  And he is right more often than not IMO.  What keeps making me cringe though are his attempts to sing--"attempts" being the key word.

I love the zarzuela repertoire, and Vives is one of the most tuneful and inventive zarzuela composers. We had a short thread on them back in 2011. There are any number of quality compilations of vocal and orchestral excerpts, but they still seem to be neglected outside Spain, and that's a shame.
