Indeed it is. Pity about the dour music, though. Can't help feeling it's the back-story that's prompted the nomination.

Now, what would members of this forum nominate?

I completely agree with Alan's comment about the reason for the nomination. Very PC it seems to me.

My nomination would be the Sterling CD of Raff's Tageszeiten and Sterne, but I'm not exactly an unbiased observer. Failing that, the Hyperion CD of the Cliffe and d'Erlanger Violin Concertos takes some beating for all round perfection.
