....they might look into the music of Antonio Scontrino* (whose G minor string quartet- well, its slow movement, I admit its first movement's a bit week, but the rest is terrific, e.g. the slow movement- quite hooks me- but he has other really good works...) , should I ask someone to translate my email into Italian first, or just send it as is in English?...

*Yes, I'm well aware they receive at least 100 such emails for 1000 composers every minute. However:
Nothing ventured, nothing ever gained!

Worldcat does reveal more recordings of his music than I thought existed, I should add, mostly of double bass works, but also a 1975 LP of the string quartet in G minor (coupled with quartets by Bazzini in C major and Sgambati's, played by the Carmirelli Quartet) on an unspecified label (Worldcat says this is at "Istituto Centrale per i Beni Sonori ed Audiovisivi" so it might be a private tape...), curious :)

Looking directly at the Istituto's library catalog now, this is interesting.

Don't be tempted to translate into Italian unless it's been done by a native speaker, not AI.

And even then only if Alfonso is ... yes, yes, understood. I have no high (or even medium) opinion of "AI", no worries, especially for something like this :) Thanks!
