For me, it's a pity the coupling is the Emperor - ther are just so many recordings!

In any case, we have strayed out of the romantic era and into the classical - Reicha 1804, Emperor 1809.  ;D

Mmm, well I for one don't have a recording of it so it'd work for me. Obviously I'm not most people.

Reicha was born in the same year as Beethoven and very much went past Classicism into Romanticism in his own way. Some of his music is pretty out there for the early 1800s.
