Hmm. Interesting. However, much as I like and applaud Rob Barnett's championing of unsung composers (and he is terrific at it), he does occasionally have an odd way of describing music which (I think) betrays the fact that he isn't really a musician - e.g. what does "bell-like lyrical repose" mean in this context? That aside, Hiroaki Takenouchi is a pretty good pianist and not afraid to tackle unsung repertoire. I might well buy this disk.

I wonder how it compares to the old Ilona Prunyi recording on Marco Polo. Her Bennett recordings seemed to be pretty well received at the time.
