Does anyone have the tempo markings of the Arnic 3rd, 5th or 8th symphonies?  Are there any other Arnic works available?   I'd sure love toknow the tempo markings of the three symphonies I have.  Malito

I got the Sommer Violin Concerto recently and did not jot down the soloist or orchestra/conductor.  Does anyone have that information?  I would appreciate having it.  Thanks, Malito

Downloads Discussion Archive / I LOVE UC but......

there is one thing that bugs me.  I find something I am delirious to get, write all the info on a CD-sized piece of paper, download it, and when I go to make a copy I find it is protecte4d by a password!  Why are things like this protected?  I tried to get the Soro piano concerto today and couldn't...just tried to download the Mignone works only to find that the "Sinfonia do Trabalho" was attainable only with a password and so I could not get the other works available on the same media file.  Couldn''t "pasword" and other reasons for not being able to download something be placed with the dowload section before one goes to all the trouble of trying to add something to one's collection?   I won the musical lottery when I discovered this site but sometimes get frustrated.  Malito

Downloads Discussion Archive / Buettner 1st
Wednesday 29 February 2012, 23:34
I just tried to download the Buettner 1st and 2nd.  The 2nd has normal times but the 1st has times of 34, 27 and 29 minutes for each of the 3 movements.  That is not possible...or is it?  Can someone check on what the times really ought to be?  Thanks, Malito

A shout out to Latvian for the wonderful David Bedford Symphony No. 1.  It may be short (15:54) but a lot of great music is packed into that 15 minutes-plus.  I played it 3 times in a row (one good thing about brevity--but I also played the Arnic 5th and the Samuragochi 1st 3 times in a row as well).  FRankly, this UC site has absolutely changed my life.  For once I am supremely happy to be retired.  No dull moments anymore! Blaz Arnic of the 5th symphony ("Partikularna") where have you been all my music collecting life!  My G**, what a symphony!  I almost did not record it because of the title but it is a 69 minute long masterpiece. Does ANYONE know anything about the movement tempi?  what the title means? How I can get more of his music????  WOW!!!!  Malito
