well ... a great and cheap recomendation .. especially if you like  chamber music would be: Bortkiewicz: Complete Works for Violin and Piano.... the violin sonata and the suite for violin piano are exquisite. they show the nostalgic, lyrical, and creative side of Bortkiewicz.

Composers & Music / Re: Symphony wish list.
Tuesday 02 June 2009, 20:43
Napravnik was a prominent conductor, and a main figure in the late-nineteenth century music scene in Russia, well-known to composers like Tchaikovsky and Rimski-Korsakov. There are four symphonies All in all and none have been recorded that I know of ..

Svendsen   :'( his 3rd symphony would of probably have been  a glorious one.

I'd have to say:
-Czerny's Nonet
-Eduard Franck's Sextets
-Richard Franck's Piano Trios
-Hans Gal's Violin and Piano Sonata
-Thuille's Cello Sonata
-Bortkiewicz's Violin and Piano Sonata
-Franz Mittler's Piano Trio
too bad this thread is only for Chamber with Piano there should be a thread for Strings only.

Hello all,
I have followed and read faithly the Unsung Composer Forum for Years.. But I never gathered the courage to contribute. When our site went down recently I was in total shock!
It is true what they say . "you don't value somebody or something until it is gone"

I am delighted to see the forum is up again.I am eternally greatful to  Mark, Alan and everybody that helps put the forum back up.
Regarding all the old post and disccussion archives, are there future plans to incorporate those in this new forum.
