This indeed is a new name to me - but the music seems to be pleasant enough!https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/eine-musikalische-soiree/hnum/7496108 (https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/classic/detail/-/art/eine-musikalische-soiree/hnum/7496108)
Extremely toothsome! Thanks, Martin.
Loved the excerpts on JPC website, thanks for the steer. Makes me "hungry" to hear his works for violin and orchestra!!
Edition Kemel has reprinted a whole lot of his music this year. Wonder how his Concertos (concertino?) in one movement (Opp.24 and 25, 1916) sound?
Apparently Vision Op.89 is from as late as 1960 (or is that just the date of initial publication? Op. no. not necessarily chronological maybe- Op.106 is said to have been composed in or published in 1944, according to the title of the 2016 Edition Kemel publication or reprint. Can't seem to find many earlier publications though, maybe these are first publications and not reprints, fwiw...)
Here's a Wikipedia biography in German. (https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walter_Wachsmuth)
