This is a stupendous opera isn't? One of the finest unsung operas I've ever come across. The only problem(and it's a big one) when I purchased the Orfeo recording from Presto several years ago I never got a digital booklet which includes the libretto(they don't supply it) I've searched high and low on the internet for the booklet or maybe just an English translation of the libretto... short answer is I can't find it. So, I ask if there's anyone here who knows where I can get it or has the booklet(or a website with a English translation I've missed) so I can follow this glorious opera, it would be appreciated.

Composers & Music / Your Dream unsung opera release
Thursday 30 April 2020, 10:50
What would your dream unsung opera you would like getting recorded? Mine would be from the Czech repertoire: Fibich's Hedy and Pad Arkona would be lovely. Next up I would like to finally hear Rapids of St John from Rozkošný and Šebor's Hussite Bride. Any others members would like finally been able to experience for the first time? (this is just for fun) :)

Composers & Music / New Violin Concertos to discover
Wednesday 25 December 2019, 10:56
Gentlemen, I need some help. I'd like to know what are some unsung violin concertos to listen to. I've got by Raff, Stanford, Reinecke, Eduard Franck, Gernsheim, there must surely be many others. Thanks in advance.

I hesitate starting this topic considering how famous Brahms is but I think his Lieder are very much unsung. Anyway, I come across the CPO editions of his complete Lieder ... does anyone know if the interpretations are any good? Any advice about other alternate complete recordings would be appreciated(if there are any)

Recordings & Broadcasts / Raff - Benedetto Marcello

What's the consensus around here about this opera? I mention it because it's the only one of his operas that has a available recording as far as I know. Worth exploring? (hidden masterpiece even?)

Composers & Music / Stanford Requiem
Wednesday 29 May 2019, 14:08
I need some advice from you guys. I love Stanford but for whatever reason I've avoided his Requiem mass. I not a huge fan of ''death music'' to be honest, maybe that's why I've avoided it, but I'd thought I'd take the plunge. Anyway, is the work worth a listen? (it's a long work). How does it compare to some other requiems, is it in the same league as the popular ones?

I was just talking about this, found it today. Very, very excited. Stanford, along with Raff, are my favourite unsungcomposers. I find both Stanfords and Raff's chamber music to be exemplary.

Hi there. I was just listening to Stanfords gorgeous String Quartets and realized that another unsung composer also composed 8 as well(Raff of course!) but I'd like to know when (if ever) will we get our grabby hands on the final installment from CPO -  1 & 5?
