I do have the Lyatoshynsky works as well as the Kosenkos. As well i have the lp with the 11 etudes in the old form. Perhaps i can post by interest of any member here.
The Korganov seems interesting too ! Another one of those contemporaries of Lysenko.
Please do upload the Alexandrov works mentioned. Its very interesting.
I can upload a prelude by alexandrov, which i do not have any idea on the op number. And its a prelude written in name of Samuel Feinberg.

this is Alexandrov whose output includes 2 symphonies and at least 10 piano sonatas, not the other Alexandrov who wrote a national anthem, yes? (And if anyone has a recording of those symphonies and/or piano sonatas, I'd like to hear them too :) - I've skimmed the scores of one of the symphonies and some of the sonatas...)
Yes, the alexandrov here we talk is Anatoly Alexandrov. Author of at least 14 piano sonatas, 2 symphonies and a piano concerto, as well as several music for film.
I shall post the 1st symphony around this week.

The alexandrov and peiko sounds intriguing. I do have a recording of the Peiko piano sonata no.2, if anyone would be interested. Toccata classics has peiko complete piano works on their pipeline !

wonder how many different efforts there have been to license the Soviet Radio archives for western CD use - at least 3 and perhaps several more yet in the last 20 years, I think, though some may have been more above-board than others, I gather. Erm. Anyways...

Looking a t the Alexandrov Lp I mentioned before that contains the Aquarelle, Op.66/2...
It also has the Sonata No4, and No.8, the performer is Victor Bunin.
I am also looking at the Lysenko LP and nowhere there's a mention of the tracks' Opus numbers. I will scan it and send a .jpeg so you can see.
I also located an 10" lp that contains the N. Rakov Sonatina No.4 in C minor played by Dmitri Blagoy.
I will upload the remaining Alexandrov tomorrow and to answer your question I DON"T have the Suite of Diary Pages.

Although from the early sonatas my favorite remains no.3. And no2 and 4 is on second place !
Please let me hear this wonderful sonatas. Also the eight sonata. I play it myself during free times. The third movement resembles very very much to the 3rd movement of the piano concerto op.102.
I can upload some recordings of rakov`s sonatina for piano and violin. I hope members would be interested !
I am deeply interested in hearing several of rakov sonatinas. As i have the scores i must enjoy them with it along. Although a friend did send me a recording of a sonatina, but it was totally not identical to the score. So i am still wondering if this scores are not actually the rakov sonatinas. But i must hear it to know.
Would you happen to have the lp of bunin play a particular sonata by alexandrov that comes with 12 preludes by Sergei Ryazorenov (Ryazoryonov)?
Victor Bunin has definitely recorded some of the music i most want to hear, and composers and admire/enjoy very much.

I have access to scores of some of Alexandrov's works, including a (Soviet) partial collected edition that contains at least the 1st symphony and so I should be able sometime to get the movement titles for the first symphony op92 in C (or if they're in Cyrillic, photocopy/scan them so that someone here can translate them), likewise for some other works if they are also in that edition (assuming Cornell still has it - haven't looked at it in years though if they haven't moved things around too much then I know where it is.) Not there often, but will go there again before too too long :)
Well, if you're going to bring up a symphony here, can anybody get me the tempo indication for the Scherzo of Alexander Tanyev's 2nd Symphony? I believe it's the one in B-flat minor.
Like herrarte, I've been impressed by the piano pieces of Lyatoshinsky ever since I first played through them. Sonata 1, op. 13, the Reflections suite, op. 16, and the Sonata Ballade, op. 18 (not 44), are bold works cast in a post-Scriabin expressionist style that is somewhat off-topic on this board. The preludes opp. 38, 38-bis, and 44 (1940s), and the etudes (1960s) essay a modal style closer to the official socialist aesthetic of the period. Several of these short works impress me as worthy successors to the preludes of Rachmaninov, and I think they would appeal to many.
Post-Scriabin expressionist style off-topic in this board :o? Gee, I hope not! Scriabin is one of my faves (You'd have to have a metal head to not be able to get the stirring march tune of his second symphony's finale out of your head ;D!); I don't think he is off-limits for this forum (Stockhausen is a different story ;)...) Anyway, more power to you, chill319, for being able to play Lyatoshinsky's music. I'd probably be growing a beard (an old man's one, that is) by the time I got to the second measure if I attempted anything even close to being as difficult as Scriabin >:(!
