Recordings & Broadcasts / Rudolf Tobias: Joonas
Thursday 10 October 2019, 03:28
Broadcast live yesterday on Estonian radio, this version in Estonian is supplemented by additional material found recently.  It's available at the moment to hear on demand:

The German version, Des Jona Sendung, was broadcast from Berlin (Neeme Jarvi conducting), a couple of years ago.

(I am reposting here, as it seems more proper to post under "recordings and broadcasts" than "composers and music".)

This is being broadcast today at 1905h CET on BR-Klassik:
https://www.br-klassik.de/programm/radio/ausstrahlung-1733022.html

Sorry for the last minute posting, but I just found out myself.

I have never heard this work (or anything by this composer, at least that I can recall), but I recognise at least a couple of names in the cast.  And here is an informative review:

I discovered this after the fact:
http://classicalradio.bru-zane.com/fr/la-nonne-sanglante-de-charles-gounod/
I do not see on the Opera Comique's website that this will be broadcast anywhere else, so I hope a recording will eventually be available.  (I'm fairly sure one will, as another of the Palazzetto Bru Zane's projects.)

Recordings & Broadcasts / Langgaard: Antikrist
Saturday 09 June 2018, 22:38
I caught most of a broadcast today on deutschlandfunkkulture.de of the German premiere at the Staatstheater Mainz of a two-act opera titled Antikrist, by the Danish composer Rued Langgaard.  I had not previously heard of either this work or the composer but what I heard intrigued me.  There is a lot of information on this website dedicated to Langgaard:  http://www.langgaard.dk/musik/vaerker/antikriste.htm and there is a DVD available of a production from the Royal Danish Opera.  Any recommendations for further listening would be welcome.

A composer  new to me, I must admit.  The broadcast is on Thursday 10 May at 20:05 CET.  I will unfortunately be unable to listen or record as I am travelling, and I do not know if this will be available on demand after tomorrow's broadcast.

I am annoyed at having missed Sunday's live broadcast of Gounod's "Le tribut de Zamora" from Munich.  Did anyone hear this?  I hope it will be available on demand but failing that will have to hope for a recording.

I discovered too late  :(  that this was broadcast live from Rome today with John Osborne in the title role.  I am hoping that someone managed to record it and can share a copy.
