Violin Concerto No.2 has the subtitle "four scherzandi with four instrumental groups". (The Haitink-conducted recording I have has been available on CD and may still be. Fun piece whose mood suits its subtitle, brief and memorable- to me anyways- even if the memorable "bits" are violin figuration and exchanges (in a tonal context), they're characterful violin figuration and exchanges. :) I do like it, truly. Haven't heard the first but didn't know there was a third.)
... thoughts of "concerto" and "Dutch composer" is making me search to see if Hans Henkemans has been mentioned in these fora.
I have one cd with orchestral music by him, already mentioned by eschiss1 above, namely Marcato MCD 139203, with:
1942 Ballade for large orchestra [13'38 in this version] Omroeporkest [RSO] under Leo Driehuys
1944 Violin Concerto No. 1 [26'34] Theo Olof violin, Utrecht SO under Paul Hupperts
1968 Violin Concerto No. 2 'Four scherzandi for four intrumental groups' [13'51`] Herman Krebbers violin, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra under Bernard Haitink
1958 Te Deum [17'44] Soloists, Groot Omroepkoor, Radio CO under André Rieu [père]
Duly modified......and the date of van Hemel's death corrected(thanks, Eric) ;D
