This very lovely work is being released on Dux:
http://www.dux.pl/feliks-nowowiejski-quo-vadis.html (http://www.dux.pl/feliks-nowowiejski-quo-vadis.html)
I haven't yet established when it will be available outside Poland, though...
This would appear to be a different performance (i.e. with different performers) from the one in our Downloads section which is slated for release on cpo.

99 Sloty makes 22 Euros, that price may be worth a try - still considering the "pending" broadcast version is quite excellent. Or what do you think about this, Alan?
The problem is the cost of postage from Dux/Poland - more than the CDs, it appears.
Postage is a laughable €34,-................ (for me). I'll wait till it's om jpc or Amazon....
Oh dear :-(
I've contacted the UK distributors of Dux...
It has been posted on another forum that CPO may shortly issue another performance of this work with different resources. :-\
That would be very surprising surely.
...or not surprising, perhaps ;)
Indeed. Well, we shall see.
Dux's UK distributor, Discovery Records, tell me that they will be stocking this release, but don't yet have a firm date. More news when I get it...
Thanks very much, Alan :P
I suspect the recording with the Philharmonie Białystok Filharmonia Poznańska and Łukasz Borowicz will be the one to be released by CPO as they have often worked with Łukasz Borowicz and the concert in Poznan was repeated in Berlin.
I'll buy both - it's a marvellous work.
Does Borowicz record fairly exclusively for cpo now btw? I see he's recorded for a number of labels.
The Dux set is now available from Clic Musique:

Out of stock...... >:(
My fault, perhaps...
My copy arrived today (sorry to rub it in). First impressions are very favourable - this is clearly a very well prepared and stunningly recorded performance. And what a work it is! Quite the most exciting work of its type and period that I have discovered in recent years. I don't think Nowowiejski is a particularly original or innovative composer, but, my goodness, this work packs a real punch. (Mind you, the juxtaposition of slavonic-sounding church music and Meyerbeerian marches is pretty unusual!)
This is a great work; of that I am fully convinced.
Other influences in the mix are Wagner (Lohengrin) and the French oratorio tradition. Possibly Bruch too, since Nowowiejski studied under him.
...and here's news of the cpo recording!!>>

What timing...
Indeed, now we get spoiled by choice......... :-\ I think I'll wait for a review here or there
The CDs (DUX1327-1328) are now available in the UK from Discovery Records Ltd. - tel. 01380 728000:

Thanks! Wow 42 GBP!!!!! :(
Really? I'm amazed. I can't see how it can sell for much more than £25 once the online retailers get hold of it.
Certainly no-one should be buying this from Discovery at £42.99!! I have emailed them to find out why their price is so high...
£45.22 on Amazon UK! A third party seller is offering it for £36 something. Still, that's ridiculously highly priced.
Absolutely. Nobody should be buying at these prices. I'll report back on what Discovery have to say about this...
And their reply was:
We sell our products based on the what a label charges us. I agree that it is expensive but it does come in a deluxe clam shell box along with a 56 page booklet.
Hmmmm.... I have the set and the box is nice, though nothing special, and the booklet is, of course, in Polish and English. Definitely not worth the money - unless you're desperate to hear the piece.
... and if you are desperate to hear the piece, then Hadrianus' excellent off-air recording of a different peformance is still freely downloadable from our Downloads Board here (http://www.unsungcomposers.com/forum/index.php/topic,6175.msg65236.html#msg65236).
Here in poland price is 99 zlotys, i.e. ca. 25 USD. I have no idea what the cost o posting might be.
for internationa distribution you can contact as below
kitka@dux.pl
I can't remember what Dux were charging to send the CDs to the UK; all I remember is that the postage cost more than the CDs!!
The CPO disk is €24.99 from their website. A good deal more reasonable than the DUX.
:-) Thanks, Alan
If there is anything wrong about this download, I can also send files via retransfer....
Very kind. Thank you.
The DUX recording is now downloadable from Qobuz (http://www.qobuz.com/gb-en/album/nowowiejski-quo-vadis-op-30-feliks-nowowiejski-warmian-masurian-philharmonic-orchestra/5902547013275) for a very reasonable £11.99.
Having not yet acquired either recording yet, I wonder if anyone here can offer their opinion as to which is the more preferable version? Having tried the various soundbites for comparison purposes, I am still unsure of which way to go - although this work is certainly a must-buy!
The Dux is in German; the cpo in Polish. I bought both and couldn't split them. You'd be happy with either; happiest with both!
Many thanks, Alan - it looks then as if I will have be a little extravagant!
