Title: Robert Kahn Quintet in C minor, Op.54 (1909)
Post by: eschiss1 on Saturday 24 February 2024, 21:27
This isn't a new broadcast, but I don't think it's been mentioned here before, nor to my knowledge has this work yet received a commercial recording (unlike the quintet in D from 1926 on Hanssler.)
See Das Else Ensemble spielt Kahns Quintett op54 (https://www.swr.de/swr2/musik-klassik/musikstueck-der-woche/das-else-ensemble-spielt-robert-kahns-quintett-op-54-100.html).

The ensemble here is piano, clarinet, violin, viola and cello.

The score and parts are at IMSLP, too (where alternate instrumentations including common garden piano quintet and trae-messing-tarm-klaver (sorry :) wood, brass, string, piano) options are noted.)

Actually, I have a commercial recording by the Ensemble Émigré on the Rubicon label, released in 2021.  It uses piano, violin, cello, clarinet, and horn.
