Title: Rued/Siegfried Langgaard's First Symphony by the Korean Symphony Orchestra
Post by: Ilja on Monday 03 July 2017, 20:34
I just found out that last Saturday, the Korean Symphony Orchestra put their performance of Rued Langgaard's (or as I have always suspected, Siegfried and Rued's) symphony No. 1, "Pastoral of the Cliffs", conducted by Jah-Bom Koo, online on Youtube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYhzc0BURr8). It is a very committed performance, even if the recording balance leaves something to be desired (the important quartet of French horns all but disappear in most tuttis). Good crowd, too.

Thanks, Ilja. I will enjoy comparing it to my Danacord version!

Unfortunately, the sound quality is quite bad, which especially shows in the more dynamic passages. No competition for either of the two available commercial recordings (Segerstam and Dausgaard), but absolutely not bad. My favorite probably still is Segerstam, followed closely by Dausgaard's second (radio) recording at last year's Langgaard Festival (which I uploaded to the downloads board).

Sounds like I had better listen to the version you uploaded, Ilja.
