QuoteAs far as I remember, there will be three volumes
.
A few years ago, Adriano noted above the arrival of the first two volumes of Toccata's Jaques-Dalcroze piano series. As vol. 4 is now on the horizon (Presto, 7 July), it appears that vol. 3 might have sneaked past us under the radar, unless I missed it in Search.

Presto links to 3 & 4:

Vol. 3

Vol. 4

Quote from: terry martyn on Saturday 25 March 2023, 10:14...it has been very difficult to purchase. I had it on order from Presto for a long while, until they informed me that the label (Bridge) had stopped manufacturing CDs of this performance.  But amazon.com notifies me today that my copy has shipped, and it seems that the CD is still available on their website.....

The Bristow/Fry album is also available from Apple Music.

Anyway....at this point, we are all frequently (and quite correctly) admonished to "get back to the music, please".  So, let's do so. As I asked previously, has anyone listened to the Blodek "Shakespeare" suite, which is the included music with the recorded symphony? Might acquire it as well, but always like to hear reviews, pro and con, from the UC community. Thanx, everyone.

Download also available here on Apple Music (previously iTunes) for their usual $10, or free with an Apple Music subscription ("free" in the sense that it's included with monthly sub $).  The album also contains an apparent orchestral suite, entitled "Music for the Shakespeare Celebrations".  Has anyone listened?

Just a minor quick thing - MDG's back cover lists the #5 quartet as "C major", while virtually everywhere else I look, I see G major.  This is the sort of thing that is often readily noticed around here, and I did a quick search to see if it had been addressed....apologies if I missed it somewhere.

I'm with Alan & Mark, perfectly pleasant, but probably won't make anyone forget Beethoven. At the same time, isn't it delightful to hear something composed in this day and age, that doesn't sound like a plane crashing into a train wreck?!  :o

(thanks very much to Mark & Ilja for the Youtube-to-mp3 suggestions, I've downloaded both and so far they look much safer to use, and easier to boot!)

Quote from: Alan Howe on Wednesday 22 June 2022, 19:57Can anyone download this, please?

Off-topic of Scharwenka (and I'll start separate thread if anyone thinks it's warranted), but I just downloaded this from Youtube using a site which may (or may not) have been mentioned here sometime along the way, mp3-now.com.  Have used it before for this very type of thing, but increasingly, one has to navigate around all manner of scammy-phishy-looking pop-ups, and I'm getting increasingly nervous about using it.  Anyone have any other suggestions?  I was going to post my mp3 here of this Scharwenka work (I did manage to get one), but if Mark is going to do so, it will very likely be better quality than mine would offer.
