Title: Norbert Burgmüller catalogue
Post by: Mark Thomas on Thursday 18 August 2011, 18:18
Klaus Tischendorf, whose Norbert Burgmüller site (http://www.burgmueller.com) I have always regarded as the model of single composer websites, has just published a comprehensive thematic and biographical catalogue (http://www.dohr.de/autor/tischendorf.htm) of Burgmüller's music. At €49.80 it's not cheap, but such a comprehensive 220-page review of the composer seems to merit an essential place on any unsung enthusiast's bookshelf and will certainly have one on mine.

Many thanks for the hint to this book. It may be remarked, this is not a biographical, but a thematic-bibliographical catalogue. It contains 32 pages of colour illustrations, which may make the price understandable. Meanwhile there are a few more reviews published, which do not appear on the site of the publisher Dohr, who does not move any hand to promote the book. But why should he? The book was completely financed by the author...
