Johann Padowetz article on Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Padovec

Some modern recordings that I know of:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivan_Padovec#CD_Recordings

Listen to his music:

Johann Padowetz - March, for solo guitar (2:23)
https://soundcloud.com/filippo-depario/johann-padowetz-march-for-solo-guitar/s-Kw6mP

Performing artist: Darko Petrinjak, Maroje Brčić

In opus 3 the chitarra prima part is written for a terz-guitar, tuned a minor third above an ordinary guitar; this part can be played by placing a capotasto at the third fret of an ordinary guitar. The chitarra seconda part is for an ordinary guitar, standard tuning.

Hi Alberto,
thank you for that information. Kolo actually means 'round dance', but sure is spirited. Communists in ex Yugoslavia didn't support composition of German or Italian-like art-music, and Croatian composers of the era who had any tendency of becoming more than a music class teacher were constricted to compose solely on Balkan folklore tunes material or sail away to avant-guard music. Ones who didn't subordinate, lead careers of a introvert, making music for a narrow circle of nostalgic acqaintances, if not only for themselves.

Yes, thank you. Ivan pl. Zajc is a Croatian variant of the name which he used to accommodate new surroundings when he moved to  Zagreb. It's not that important really, but I like it as I myself am somewhat italian-influenced as person from the Mediterranean, so anyways...

Well they could lie if.. you've probably heard of the inferiority complex

Several times have I encountered info telling Zaytz composed 1202 op., but never actually supporting that with at least a vague listing (would be hard to cite it even just partially, if it's for real, would it not?). So is it true or maybe a juicy lie by some Croatian musicologists nationalists?

Whilst some of you may be investigating this, you might want to listen to his String Quartet Op.143 in E Major

Thanks,
bye-bye

Hi guys,

Some time ago I uploaded Rudolf Matz's Concerto for Flute & Orchestra to YouTube. Now, I understand that most likely it doesnt meet our forum's parameters explaining romantic, but I'm so eager to share it here.

Anyhow, its not surplus to mention Matz was a full-blooded romantic, and this concerto represents the foremost extreme in his ouvre. Composed in 1965.

My favorite move's the 3rd, and very exciting is 2/2 of the 2nd, ant the others too, of course..
Cool ending of 4th move!

In addition, Matz was an athlete and enchanted by the ancient antiquity, and concerto's inspired by his archaic dreams..

Have fun!
