It seems that Helen Hopekirk has been mentioned on this forum before, but mostly concerning disappointment at her PC not being recorded. In any case, an album of some of her solo piano music is becoming available soon. From Toccata, with Gary Steigerwalt at the helm.
Per Toccata: "The early pieces can sound like Brahms in the Highlands, and her later works marry Debussyan Impressionism with Hebridean folk-music, to evocative, touching and exhilarating effect."
