Are the detailed work descriptions still up somewhere else at Raff.org, just at a different URL? Thanks.
Sorry, Eric, I missed this question - I was unexpectedly delayed from returning home for ten days.
The short answer is "no", they're not. When I modernised raff.org a couple of years ago I dispensed with them as they were rarely visited and the old site had become far too large and unwieldy for me to maintain with any consistency. So I decided to narrow down its focus to the sections which had a worthwhile amount of traffic, reflected what seemed to me to provide visitors with essential information: biography, catalogue and discography, plus a few low-maintainence extras.
What a shame, I tend to love that sort of thing.
Thanks. There are a lot of links to them from IMSLP's Raff workpages, for instance, that will at -best- have to be replaced with links to Archive.org (Wayback machine) or in some cases directly to the essays at MPH that, in some cases, the Raff.org essays mirror.
Understood Eric, but a web site has to stay current and be capable of being maintained and updated easily. The old raff.org had grown into something too large and complex for me to do that and so I had to pare it down to something which fitted those criteria.
I hear you!
For what it is worth, Avrohom's detailed analyses of certain works are still available.
