Christian August Gløersen (born 5th of January, 1892 – died 2nd of Januar, 1922) was a Norwegian pianist and composer. He grow in a musical and artistic enviroment as his uncle Ole Kristian (1838-1916) was poet and collabored with him (in his piece "Stemning") and his brother Jørgen was apparently composer and also copyst of many works of him. Not much is known about August Gløersen, apart that he died very young, at 30 years old, and that his brother wrote his biography in 1971. Lamentably, I don't have access to that biography, wich could help with some info about his short life.
He composed no more than 35 or 40 pieces, mostly for piano and voice or piano solo.
Also I discovered some interesting arrangements, sketches for orchestra and some other stuff in nb.no
I transcribed two of his piano pieces and I'm in process of transcribing his song "Der luftbezwinger". I'll share the 2 pieces on the digital realsation section.
Thanks for reading!
Also, if someone has acces to some document about Gløersen, please let me know!
It will be a good contribution to this thread if someone finds more info about August.
