It seems that the Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia are making a regular event of this; last year they performed Anton Rubinstein's 4th concerto (also with Anna Leyerer; YouTube Link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V-EtX0jXARY)), and the Paderewski the year before that (with Ruben Micieli; YouTube Link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KRM1v6xHH10)). The programming from several Spanish orchestras has been gratifyingly adventurous over the last years, with the Orquesta de Extremadura performing such unsung works as Woyrsch' 1st and Zemlinsky's D minor symphony, and even the venerable Sinfónica de Galicia and RTVE orchestras reaching a bit beyond the usual repertory.

And, not unimportantly, to packed houses; I attended the Zemlinsky concert in Badajoz myself and was pleasantly surprised to find a full auditorium with a fairly age diverse audience reacting with great enthusiasm to the performance. So it IS possible.

I reckon this has crossed over to being "sung".  Or, at least on its way.

It's nice that Bortkiewicz it's not the only composer they have played. I wish that in my country some day they can play one of these obscure pieces.

There has to be a better definition of "sung", I suppose; less unsung might fit. We would probably no longer consider e.g. the Magnard 3rd symphony as unsung but most classically-informed fans have still probably never heard it or heard of him all the same (including a hardly ignorant music department head and friend of my family for whom I played it, as I recall, some years back.) Same with Berwald and his symphonies. To give two examples.

Nice try. Orchestra is out of tempo sometimes, winds are as dubious as they can be. But Anna's stance seems to be the perfect fit to Bortkiewitch. And, yes, she is as much Russian as needed.

I definitively think that Zubkov's recording is the best by his improvised cadenza  ;D
Also, the other pianists play the Allegro part on the first movement too slow. I think the other most solid interpretation is that of Shadrina. This one is well played, as talking about the piano but I definitively like more thw other two. Though... it will be really great if David Porcelijn record his piano concerto no.1, as he played very well his 3rd concert!
