Abelone Gurine Solberg, also known as Lona Solberg (or Elise Brown) was a norwegian composer born the 11th of december of 1825 and died the 17th of november of 1920. Possibly one of the first women composers of the norwegian romantic era; she composed more than 40 pieces, mostly miniatures for piano but also some songs with texts of Andreas Munch, Jørgen Moe and Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. She was rejected in her lifetime by her "poor ability to compose good pieces", a really rude commentary. I have been uploading some of her works (15 for now) to IMSLP from the National Library of Norway and I really think she deserves some attention. Her pieces tend to be a little bit repetitive or not very original but are very enjoyable and playable for beginners and intermediate piansits. Those pieces show that even when the musical society of the time rejected her, she continued composing and playing. Thanks!
The user ErlingI from MuseScore has written a better biography than mine, also check her IMSLP page for her pieces and more information: https://imslp.org/wiki/Category:Solberg,_Lona
