Title: Atterberg Symphonies
Post by: britishcomposer on Saturday 05 May 2012, 12:30
The host of Swedish Radio P2 'Klassisk förmiddag' announced a couple of days ago that Neeme Järvi is going to record a new complete set of Kurt Atterberg's symphonies with the Gotenburg Symphony Orchestra. Have any of you further information? I would be interested to known which company will undertake this task!

I would suspect DGG, with whom Jarvi has been recording recently with the Gothenburg orchestra.

Whilst it is nice to have the prospect of another Atterberg symphonic cycle I do have to say that the Rasilainen/cpo set was excellent.

When, oh when, is somebody going to record all Hilding Rosenberg's symphonies ???

Dunno - and I'm not holding my breath.

Meanwhile, back with Atterberg...
