Hoping mods will forgive replying to this old topic, but a new world premiere recording of piano music by Joseph Kessler is in the works chez Acte Préalable, the label which gave us a previous recording of the composer's Preludes and Etudes.
New recording here (https://acteprealable.com/produkt/ap0498/).
High time more of Kessler's music was recorded in my opinion.
Thank you for this news! I am definitely going to buy it!
Acte Prealable is listing a future-release cd of piano works by Joseph Christoph Kessler, 1800-1872. The webpage flashes "world premiere recording" but it's unclear to me if that means all pieces on the recording, or just select ones. Pianist is Magdalena Brzozowska.
Kessler's Wikipedia page begins thusly:
"Joseph Christoph Kessler (26 August 1800 – 14 January 1872), also seen as Kötzler, was a German pianist and composer who was active mostly in the Austrian Empire. His études, nocturnes, variations, preludes and bagatelles were praised by such people as Franz Liszt, Sigismond Thalberg, Ignaz Moscheles and Friedrich Kalkbrenner, and he was the dedicatee of the 24 Preludes, Op. 28 by Frédéric Chopin."

Don't know how I could have missed the earlier mention(s) of this Kessler cd. Apologies. :o
