I shan't be buying this. I think the Rasilainen cycle on cpo is excellent in every way - and cheaper.

I loved the first volume, but the second volume was pretty meh (especially Symphony No. 8....I could just not get past the tempos).
The 1st is another very 'epic' one so I'm fearful the recording will be similarly problematic.
Also I'm pretty sure #5 is my least favorite of his nine of top of things...

Rasilainen is exceptionally good. His performances are masterful, with great pacing, attentive detail, discipline, and a convincing emotional palette. I could probably be talked into a second edition performed by the Concertgebouw under a conductor with a temperament like Rasilainen's. Short of something along those lines, though, I'm content. When you've nailed it, you've nailed it.

Exactly. Rasilainen is exceptional.

Hrm. Quite like #5 myself, especially that odd, "D-minor-or-not?... ah, yes, finally" close... not as fond of nos.3 and 6 at the moment though I'm sure that will change over time.
