A nice release at budget price. Let's hope they're as good as the Harrell/Marriner recordings.

Yes, I have. I haven't listened to the Second Concerto yet, but the first is a well put together work lasting around 25 minutes which is very much the sibling of its better known successor. I can't say that I found it particularly memorable at first hearing, but it's early days. The 16 minute Irish Rhapsody is, as the booklet says, "a blatant but enjoyable piece of Oirishry". Which is all you really need to know, but it's none the worse for that. The performances of both works seem absolutely first rate.

I have and it is a welcome addition to my collection. Each of the three pieces are quite unique and they form a pleasant one hour listening experience. It is one that I will return to on a regular basis.
