The cd of Nicode piano works played by Simon Callaghan, has received an excellent review in the August issue of The Gramophone. It can be obtained direct from Hyperion Records.
It's a truly lovely recording. But to judge Nicodé from this very Schumannesque music is akin to judging Richard Strauss from his two early symphonies.
So: what we really need are some recordings of his later music to find out what all the hype in certain quarters is about, e.g. Gloria!
