Title: Cramer Piano Concertos #1, 3 & 6 - Hyperion CPC series
Post by: Sharkkb8 on Thursday 23 July 2020, 03:03
In a previous thread about Cramer PC's #4 & 5, Gareth gave us the scoop that PC's 1, 3 and 6 were on the way from Howard Shelley & Hyperion, on the Classical Piano Concerto series.  That album is now available for pre-order on Apple Music, with a release date of 25 Sept.  And once again, maybe a little curious that it can be found there, but apparently not yet on Amazon or Presto....

between Chandos (2/7/8) and Hyperion that means we have will have 8 Cramer piano concertos recorded and available? Neat.

Next up is Georg Benda concertos, due out in October. (I'm not sure there's enough interest here to warrant a thread, good though Jiri certainly was.)

Point is, Eric, whether they even qualify. I don't believe they do.

No, me neither. Cramer is definitely on the cusp of romanticism, but Benda died in 1795 and stylistically is definitely a composer of the classical era.
