Out since 6 September, but I didn't see a discussion here yet:
Mathilde Kralik von Meyrswalden: Chamber Music (https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/9660054--mathilde-kralik-von-meyrswalden-piano-trio-violin-sonata-nonet)- Piano Trio in F major (1880)
- Violin Sonata D minor (1878)
- Nonet in C minor for Piano, bassoon, 2 horns, clarinet and string quartet (1901)
Oliver Triendl, piano / Member of the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra
A lovely recording, which combines two youthful works with a more mature and also more substantial composition from the same period as her "Hymnische" symphony. After a first listen I can attest that the playing and sonics are both excellent; in the case of the trio much better than either of the available extant recordings. The Nonet turns out to be a lovely work which makes a good case for Kralik's later and more quirkily individual style.
No discussion, no, but there was a post (https://www.unsungcomposers.com/forum/index.php/topic,9460.msg96782.html#msg96782) back in June -- before it was released that is. :)
Thanks, Eric. I've merged the two threads.
