for the next month, this (tonal, in fact late Romantic, for those as don't know it) very large Schoenberg work, conducted by Simon Rattle in a recent German performance, is available over BBC Radio 3. (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m001zwk4)

The very definition of 'over the top' - and probably no longer unsung (a bit like Suk's Asrael Symphony), but never mind...

I love the 79's Ozawa recording of the Gurrelieder. Werner Klemperer's charmingly over the top rendition of "Herr Gänsefuss, Frau Gänsekraut" gets me every time.
