Title: Mel Bonis orchestral works recorded by WDR Sinfonieorchester
Post by: Wheesht on Sunday 08 September 2024, 15:31
The WDR Sinfonieorchester of Cologne, together with the WDR Rundfunkchor (radio choir) and two soloists, have recorded all orchestral works by Mel Bonis. The recordings were made from 2 to 6 September, according to information (https://www.mel-bonis.com/MEDIATHEQUE/Enregistrement%20%C3%A0%20Cologne.pdf) provided by the "Association Mel Bonis".

The newsletter said they didn't know the date(s) of the broadcast yet, but if recordings were made over the course of several days, there surely will be more than just a broadcast.

Interesting. Wonder if there's anything that isn't on this disc:

I have that CD (but it has not left much of an impression somehow) and was wondering the same.
These are the pieces that were recorded for WDR:
- Trois femmes de légende (Le Songe de Cléopâtre; Ophélie; Salomé)
- Suite orientale
- Les Gitanos
- Trois danses
- Danse sacrée
- Suite en forme de valses
- Noël de la Vierge Marie
- Le Chat sur le toit
— Le Ruisseau
