Now available from cpo (https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/cpo/detail/-/art/louise-farrenc-klavierquintett-nr-1-a-moll-op-30/hnum/11182109), a new recording of Louise Farrenc's first piano quintet (which competes with a recording already on that label of both quintets by the Linos Ensemble, which I have, from 1991/released in 1993), the first piano quartet by Mel Bonis (1905), and a piano quartet by modern Elena Firsova (*1950) (her op.146, 2013-6, premiered 2019, and lasting 12 minutes).
Thanks, Eric. I wonder how this compares to previous recordings. I suppose it will be highly regarded, but I can't afford to 'double-up'. The Linos versions were well-received as I recall. I have the old ASV disc of the Farrenc. Whilst this is a welcome UC disc, I get the feeling that CPO are a bit late to the party.
