This is a very fine work - certainly the composer's most original symphony - so this release will be most welcome.

Wit is an excellent conductor. I like the timings of the movements, so will be looking forward to this.

Kawalla's radio/YouTube recording:
I. Spring – Molto allegro con affezione - 10:41 ca.
II. Summer – The magic of the St.John's night – Adagio molto espressivo - 9:16 ca.
III. Autumn – Harvest home festival (song & dance) – Allegro - 6:43 ca.
IV. Winter – Silence and lifelessness in Nature. Snowstorm. The return of Spring and greeting the sunny morning - 15:12 ca.

This recording: 10:37/8:50/6:13/12:35.

The earlier commercial recording on Sterling: 12:05/8:16/6:32/12:54 (see Presto (https://www.prestomusic.com/classical/products/8045718--noskowski-orchestral-works-volume-3).)

Borowicz' timings on Sterling are (rather atypically) more expansive than Wit's and Kawalla's in the first ("Spring") movement, but I think the material sustains it well. Kawalla sounds a bit rushed by comparison, and Wit might as well; we'll see. The Steppe is an interesting addition which has, to my knowledge, only been recorded once but in a very good version by Grzegorz Nowak with the Sinfonia Varsovia.

As to Step, there is a recording on YouTube too, from 2009 - here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6FovX1jcn4). Weirdly, 9:47 to Wit's 19:30 and Nowak's 20:01..! So perhaps somewhat cut, or maybe it's part 1 of 2?...
Oh, ok. As noted in the comments, "It's only a part of the whole composition, so it shouldn't be titled as such.

So with this new set of the symphonies there are two commercial recordings each of symphonies 1 and 3 and three of  symphony 2, I think. I may be missing some. That's not bad...
